Posted on August 17, 2017

You’ll never get bored in the City of Angels. Here are the top 5 happenings around town that you won’t want to miss.

1. KCRW Summer Nights
Everyone’s favorite NPR affiliate has a hand in a half dozen summer concert slates at locations like Union Station and the Hammer Museum. Familiar KCRW personalities like Jeremy Sole, Garth Trinidad, Travis Holcombe and Raul Campos spin the tunes at these food truck-fueled block parties.
September 2 & 23.

2. Museum of Ice Cream
You scream, I scream. We all scream for ice cream. Let your childhood daydreams run wild at the Museum of Ice Cream and dive into the sprinkle pool. Never fear, each ticket includes two servings of ice cream. Open through October 2017.

3. Hamilton, the musical
See the show that everyone’s been talking about. Lin-Manuel Miranda’s Broadway hit makes its debut in Southern California, a must-see this season at the Hollywood Pantages. The show runs from August 11-December 30.

4. National Geographic Live: Building the Photo Ark with Joel Sartore
Seasoned photographer and author Joel Sartore has contributed to National Geographic magazine for 20 years. Now, Angelenos will have a chance to hear from the well-traveled lensman and experience his ongoing project, the Photo Ark, in which Sartore captures stunning portraits of the world’s species before they disappear. It will kickstart the first event of the National Geographic Live series at the Broad Stage on September 7 and 8.

5. LA Times The Taste
The Taste attracts foodies of all types to the Paramount back lot for a weekend to sample some of the best food and wine L.A. has to offer. September 1-3.
