In 2019, CGI+ purchased 1818 Cherokee, previously used as a surface parking lot for the adjacent historic property The James. After initially planning to build 53 units on the site, CGI+ was able to secure final approval to develop an 86-unit apartment building The Baxter on the site. The project broke ground in 2021, with completion slated for fall 2023 with a 6-month lease up period.
