Rosh Hashanah is upon us and in the Jewish faith this is the start of a new year, a new beginning. As we enter into this special time we want to wish you and your family a moment of inspiration and hope. May you and those closest to you experience health, happiness and prosperity in this coming year, 5778. 4903491409_fa3671abfc_z

23190139272_9e0108100c_zWe are starting this New Year by giving back. As you are aware Hurricanes Harvey and Irma affected many people; more than 50,000 people in Texas, Florida and the Caribbean have been left homeless. On behalf of our investors, we donated $18,000 USD to ShelterBox USA, a highly-rated nonprofit that sends sturdy green shelter boxes containing family-sized tents specially designed to withstand the elements and provide people with temporary shelter until they are able to start the process of rebuilding a home. We thank you for being a special part of the CGI family. Happy New Year.

Inflation and the Fed’s response, as well as trends that emerged from the pandemic, have clearly had an impact on the industry across all of the sectors. Besides the effect of, say, ongoing remote work on the beleaguered office asset class or the slowing pace of rent increases in multifamily, these executives have also had to navigate an increasingly difficult capital markets environment. I have some bad news for this group: the near-term future doesn’t look any easier. Enter our selection of Best Bosses this year. This year’s picks were made at least in part based on their resiliency and ability to position their companies for future growth, whenever that might occur. We are confident these strengths will see them through what could be choppy waters ahead.
