A-List Summer Happenings: Los Angeles

Posted on May 29, 2019

With the first day of summer just around the corner, it’s time to start thinking about how we can make the most of the long sun-filled days and the languorous summer nights. We’ll spend more time at the pool and the beach, perfecting our summer tan. Getaways, weekend trips, more tee time, nights out on the patio of a beautiful restaurant enjoying a glass of wine – the possibilities are endless and innumerable.

Are there any events that you’re looking forward to? A few restaurants are projected to open in Summer 2019. Birdie G’s is slated to open as soon as June, with an indoor-outdoor setup featuring creations from Chef Jeremy Fox. In July, Enrique Olvera has plans to open a yet-to-be-named seafood eatery in the Arts District. Iron Chef winner Stephanie Izard will also open Girl and the Goat this summer – with a menu featuring over 30 shared plates.

Summer also means movie premieres and red carpet events. On June 4th, the red carpet premiere of X:Men: Dark Phoenix will take place at the Grauman’s Chinese Theatre. Or maybe you’ll attend the BET Awards on June 23rd at the Regal Cinemas. The ESPY Awards will be held at the Microsoft Theater on July 10th.

If you would rather surround yourself with fashion, The Flair Charitable Event will take play on July 27th at The California African American Museum and La Fashion Fest will follow on July 28th in downtown LA, supporting Models on a Mission Clothes and Food Drive.

However you choose to fill your calendar, may your summer be filled with weekend getaways, plenty of beach time, delicious food and great friends.

Best Bosses | Here are Real Estate Forum’s picks for Best Bosses in 2023.

The last year has not been easy for the head of a commercial real estate company. Inflation and the Fed’s response, as well as trends that emerged from the pandemic, have clearly had an impact on the industry across all of the sectors. Besides the effect of, say, ongoing remote work on the beleaguered office asset class or the slowing pace of rent increases in multifamily, these executives have also had to navigate an increasingly difficult capital markets environment. I have some bad news for this group: the near-term future doesn’t look any easier. Enter our selection of Best Bosses this year. This year’s picks were made at least in part based on their resiliency and ability to position their companies for future growth, whenever that might occur. We are confident these strengths will see them through what could be choppy waters ahead.
